Turbocharging AT 350z

I would like to know if it is possible to safely boost an auto 350z. knowing that the transmission can only handle a certain amount of torque (specifically the RE5R05A). :confused:

Yes, as long as you stay under a threshold of about 400hp.

A wise upgrade that helps the auto trans with f/i would be an aftermarket valve body upgrade kit, clutch packs, torque converter, and transmission cooler.

Interestingly enough I find automatic turbo 350z's to be rare, its usually the G35s you see with go with this path.

ok. automatic vs manual. which setup is more cost effective?

That depends, what do you plan on using the car for..a casual road/track car, serious dragster, drifting, street sleeper, etc..

I'd go with the m/t.

Really the auto would only be good for straight drag racing..and that's about it. All the upgrades you would have to do would definitely surpass the price in what you would have to the standard 6mt.

And, if you have the means to do so..there's always the quaife sequential transmission for the Z33.
