turbocharging a 1991 KA with only 88,000 miles on it. what do i have to do?

Im super noob and just got into the 240sx thing. i have a 91' with 88,ooo origional miles on it...dont know if that has to do with anything. i was wondering if it would cost more to keep the stock engine and turbo it, and how much prep for the turbo would cost. or should i just swap for an sr20det? which would be the best way to go, i wouldnt be able to swap the engine myself so i would have to pay mass money for a mechanic to swap the engine. would it be better to kep the stock engine and mod it to be able to handle a turbo? like change compression ratio and whatever else...sorry super noob and have no idea of what im actually talking about. thanks

search around and i bet you will find everyone's opinions.

to simplify it, you will end up spending about the same for an sr20 swap as you will getting your ka reliably turbocharged. unless youre some sort of purist, id stick with the ka since it has only 88k on it, and get some suspension stuff done (if you already havent) before trying to make more power.

but like i said, before you ask any other questions, search around. visit the sr20 forum and the ka-t one as well and get some answers from guys who have already done it.

Sorry to stray back to the original topic of the thread, but the first thing you need to do is learn. Use the SEARCH button, and do a lot of reading in the forums (especially KA-T and RWD SR).

Anyway, I say they win their first playoff game, but then they blow it.
