hi fellas,

I have been searching a lot on this right turbocharger for my project... i have been to many sites, researched the forum and surfed google and ebay... but none could offer what i need... thaught that u guys could help me find the following:

*T3 flange*able to handle 450-550 HP*Internal wastegate*should be an easy swap! meaning the exhaust side*is there maybe a garrett that would directly exchange exhaust side with our stock one?*cost should not be higher than 500 to MAX 600 USD

well basically, i am looking for a turbo that is very close to plug and play, should handle power and at a reasonalble price..

unforuntatly high-flowing my turbo is out of question because in Austria the companies charge over 1000 USD ... so i am better of buying a new one that can handle more power at the same time... (i have PFC and 550cc installed)

thx,

nick

the only way you can get plug and play is something from japan. ive seen a few used turbos come on with the same exhaust flange.

a garret t3/t4 internal waste is gonna be closest. would require re-doing your exhaust flange and possibly your DP. also a small spacerto push the compressor housing away from the manifold.

for that power range a aftermarket manfold would help. not sure on specs. cant remember to well.

I highly doubt an internal wastegate could regulate a supposed 500hp turbo. An HKS standard external wastegate is only rated to 400hp and it has a poppet valve twice the size of the swingdoor gate. Boost creep is more than what the girls call me.

For the power levels you are talking about, "500hp" and "cheap & easy" are two divergent goals. You really need to go in one direction or the other; get a good-flowing manifold with a capable external wastegate and properly sized turbo or lower you power goals into the upper 300hp, lower 400hp range and get a good internally gated turbo for your stock manifold.

The Rb Turbo's are both Oil and Water, if you can try to find one that is as well.

those t3-t4 turbo on ebay were mostly oil cool. how did you guyz come to put it on the skyline?....or for an after market turbo....you just skip the water cool and only use oil cool instead?....

im wonderin why people say stay away from t3 hybrid turbos? are people just opinionated and bias towards ball bearing turbos? if i dont care about responsiveness and i can handle the turbo lagging till 5k rpm it doesnt really matter if i ran a t3/t4 hybrid right? i know a custom downpipe/intake pipe/ charge piping will have to be fabbed, but that is simple. i will probably be runnin the ss autocrap manifold aswell, im getting it for damn near 100 bucks so i'll put it down and be the test dummy.

i now went for a Holset hx35w turbo... will post results in 2 weeks...

EDIT: there are int. wastegated turbos that can hold 500-600 (ie. holset hx40)

umm sorry but isn't the answer pretty obvious? the two biggest factors for choosing a turbo is power and response. Everyone wants a high hp with great response. BB turbos allow you to attain a lot of power without suffering a huge amount of lag. I really can't see why you don't care about response? You buildin a dyno queen or what...

when i launch the car it will be above 5k rpm and probably building 1-3psi of boost. its not a handling car where response is necessary. i am building an all out drag car/ freeway monster

gt30r with a .86ar turbine housing would have worked well for ya.

ball bearing turbos are nice, no doubt, but they are VERY VERY expensive.
