Just wanted to know if anyone has used this or knows someone who has it. Im interested in it and just wanted to hear your opinions/facts about this device....

It works on the Gameboy Advance SP and it is a fuel computer/boost controller, with datalogging capabilities as well as wideband A/f ratios. no control over ignition timing though, otherwise almost a standalone. Still a piggy back.

I was under the impression that the DTEC was only availible on the EVOVIII and WRX/STI as of now. My buddy has it on his VF34 boosted 04 WRX and it is AWESOME. I can't even begin to go into how killer it is. He has it tuned on rolling road with a UTEC and the thing just screams. IF you can actually use it now for our cars, I HIGHLY reccomend it!

the dtec is vehicle specific. They do have more applications other than the evo and wrx. They make dtec's for the 300zx, 350z, mr2, etc..but not for a 240/Silvia. At least their website implies they can only be used per specific vehicle, so I don't know if it'd be possible to run one not using the correct car.

The fuel controller/boost controller, datalogging is not vehicle specific. the UTEC is. That is like an EMS. The DTEC's are piggyback universals.

http://www.turboxs.com whaddya think compared to a safc2 and a avcr.

Well the DTEC starter kit is about $475...then if you dont already have a Gameboy Advance, you'll need to purchase one of those. An safc is quite a bit cheaper and has most of the same features. Or for the price of the full dtec kit+gameboy you could buy an emanage ultimate, which I'd rather have. The Dtec is a cool idea though, but for me, the price is a little high for the features you get.
