Im looking to turbo my 240, and I was wondering what all you people thought about turbo's. Yes, they are pricey, but some say they are worth it, some say they arent. And can somebody tell me what the bear minimum price would be for 5-7 psi or so, and what parts i would NEED to buy.:helpto turbo, or not to turbo, thats the question

if you build your own turbo setup you will get more for less. Research is the key. also what is your mechanical / electrical knowledge and do you have access to tools or a shop. (friends dad or something)??

Buy a kit. It will be easier in the long run. An engine rebuild will be of great help as well.

turbo whine is a scary sound.

I'd rebuild with good forged lower compression internals though, more boost the better!

Dont do it if your only doing it to say you have turbo, a project involving a turbo charger will always be a money pit, so you have to make sure the car will be satisfying to you. Alot of people would rather put their money into more practical modifications like suspension and much better wheels and tires. I would rather have a turbo car...

if you dont' know what your'e doing, then don't do it. expect to spend thousands if your'e going to boost a KA. Just save up a lot of money, and work on bringing the car up to par mechanically before you make plans. these are old cars.

you should really be posing your question to the guys in the turbo KA forum:http://www.nicoclub.com/forums...31rbo KA forum

and for the more general 240 questions you have, post them here:http://www.nicoclub.com/forums...id=44

No need to do it if you aren't going to use it. It would just be throwing away money. But, if you plan on using it then hell yeah get it.

Make sure you have a lot of money...for only 5-7 psi I'd honestly look at buying a kit for the simplicity of it. Check out http://www.import-autoperformance.com Marc's a great guy to do business with and I think there may even be a NICO discount.
