I just got a brand new Water/oil cooled turbo form Garrett, right now I am tryign to find a route for the water line to the Turbo , I am thinking to use the water line to the Throttle body for the turbo water inlet, and use another end for the outlet.

For some reason If I don't want to install the water line, can I just block it? does it hurt the turbo ?

I would install the water line... It will greatly help keep the oil cooler and in turn save you from cooking oil. (help reduce the chance)

I Don't know what the issues could be with blocking it off... But it was designed with the intent to use it... So I would.

Ive heard people haveing overheating problems when running water lines due to the excess heat of a turbo so if you do run it, make sure you have a good cooling system. Ive also heard that people do cap them off with no problems, but i would assume a original oil only turbo would be better suited if you dont plan on running the coolant lines. Mayeb someone with experiance will chime in.

If the turbo has a oil and coolant cooling cababilities, then it probably was designed to use oil and coolant. If the manufacturer says that the coolant feed is optional then it is, but if you have not seen it written somewhere then chances are the manufacturer designed the turbo to work with oil and coolant not just oil.

do you still have the mechanical fan hooked up? or did you switch to some electrical ones?

Hey, that whole deal with overheating with water cooling is ridiculous, your stock cooling system is more than capable, just think, the AT 240's have that transmission to cool and they do just fine. But you should definitely run water cooling if you have it, I'm in the same boat, even though it's a pain, you gotta get it done.

I have never had any experiance first hand, its just what I have heard from people running watercooled turbos, it was worth a mention. Also I have heard auto 240's haveing bigger radiators but I cant tell you that first hand either.
