I have been looking over some compressor maps and I'm pretty sure I have what turbo I want figured out. But I thought I would ask for some 'reassurace' as I'm not so confident in my mapping and calculation skills since I'm new to this. I was looking at getting a T3/T04E 54 trim stage 3 wheel .63 A/R for 8 to 10 psi on a daily driven stock DE. I'm also looking for somewhat of a guick spool, full boost by 3200 rpms, for it not to die off on the top end, and around 220-240hp. So would that be somewhat of an 'ideal' (I have read maximum boost  and realize there is no perfect turbo) for what I'm looking for?

That's the exact same turbo that I have, except I have a 57 trim wheel.

From what I gather, it should boost right around 3k depending on gear. I'm actually hoping that it's a little higher, as i can get from home to work and back without ever boosting, and that's the annoying bit of my daily driving.

i don't need 10psi to crawl down the main university street here, heh.

I went with the 60 trim since I'm planning on higher boost. The 50' trim looks nice also. But I would stay away from the 57 trim...

Look into ball bearing upgrades…if you are only looking at 220-240 hp (average 6-7 psi) you might consider going T3 super 60 BB (ball bearing).

*shrug* I've heard of good setups with the 57 trim. This is my first project - I think it'll work. maybe next time i'll get really mathematical with my turbo selection.

Planning my buildup late January - we'll find out then.

people use it, but the 50 and 54 trim compressors will outperform a 57 trim. the 57's efficiency is decent at best.

Don't worry, it depends on boost wanted. But it WILL work... just a bit hotter than the other turbos since it's efficiency is lower. I wouldn't use it on high boost, that's for sure.

Alright so it looks like I'll be getting the 50 trim. So my next question is does anyone know of any places cheaper then cheapturbos.com for this turbo?
