im probably going to get flamed for this but figured id ask anyways. im pretty sure the seals on my stock turbo are going out, because when im in boost and i shift i get a lot of whit smoke from the exhaust. but my question is this, im wondering if i can just get a gt3076 or 71 with a internal wastgate and just bolt it right on? i know i will need new injectors and a good standalone tomake some good power, but im getting ready to deploy in a couple months and dont want to dump alot of cash into just yet. so basically im looking for a good simple bolt on turbo. does any one have any suggetstions? am i possibly over looking something?

u need other supporting mods for that upgrade.. your better of just getting another stock one... n if it was your seals going bad it be black smoke from the oil burning...

We sell a bolt on turbos for various HP ranges that utilize most the factory components (downpipe, intake pipe, etc.)

HKS is the only line I know off hand that make 6bolt (elbow) RB direct replacement turbo's, guess I'll check RawBrokerage's pieces

I agree if the turbo seam was bad it would be black smoke. White is probably from too much fuel. You have a bov vented atmosphere right? My turbo guy just did a hybrid turbo for me that flows over 45 lbs/min 450hp for 1250 with all new Garrett parts. He milled and machined my housings perfectly and ran a brand new cartridge with custom wheels. On a rb20 the thing did 310 whp at 11psi and 414 whp at 18psi. The compressor he used is supposed to be efficient to 26 psi before it starts blowing hot air. All lines bolt up except the oil feed line. Just needed a braided oil feed. Email me at [email protected] and I can get you in touch with him or send you pictures of mine.

White smoke is water/coolant burning

White is technically coolant but I bet he's mistaking grey for white lime most people do. Definitely sounds like fuel though.
