I'm curious as to why they say your turbo is too big. There is no such thing as a turbo that is too big really. Might lag but that's it. Elaborate please.

I'm confused as to how the GT30 is using the same housings as the T25/T28, or are you talking about the flanges?

Looking at the math, the wheels are totally different and the frame is a GT30, which is different from the T2 based frames.

Either or, to the OP your T3/T04 should be fine. Sr owners have been using them for a looooong time now with no troubles. If you're worried about it, there's a great thread on the boards about making a 400 hp SR on a GT2871rs .64 a/r

ya.. and with my upcoming tax returns, I'm using that to pay off any bills I have, and the rest on some suspension arms I've been putting off.

Looks like my t25's gonna have to sit tight till next tax returns, lol.

Dude, with the motor I put together, I feel shameful for leaving the T25 on it. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Garett GT3071R-WG Turbo is based upon the same turbo as the HIGH flowing, larger framed GT3071R, but conveniently packaged into the T25/28 same style turbine housing as the popular GT28Rs/GT2871R turbos. This Garrett GT3071R-WG turbo is uniquely configured with its own turbo wheel trim, turbine A/R, and compressor housing. Unlike, the GT28RS and GT2871R, this turbo now has a much larger compressor housing to support the much higher flowing 71mm compressor wheel. Comes with T25 style inlet flange.

ok thanks...ill explain it the best i can....well its a red top sr20det in an 89240sx the t3/t4 kit is from xs power it was a kit my brother got for me for a present.... its a top mount turbo and it sits right next to the brake master cylinder when mounted(literally 1/2 and inch away from the outgoing lines)....it has a 3 inch inlet and outlet....he says it would get too hot for my brake master cylinder and im assuming it means itl affect the brake lines? i was thinking about the gt30 turbo and can any1 tell me if its a top mount or lower mount or both...thanks for the replies everyone

my friend is running a topmount precision sc61 and he melted his brake fluid resv. while on the track (he road races).

so that's why there's heatwrap and brake master cylinder shields. get them both, and use them, and you should be fine...

I'm trying to figure out if the GT3071r-wg is a good choice over the 2871 I'm trying to hit 400 safely.
