Seems like the 2871r is a very popular upgrade. Any idea of your power goal? Primary use of the car (ie: drift, drag, road racing, fun road car)?

mostly drag but some drifting for fun every now and then and for power wise maybe about 350- 400ish i don't really have a clue yet on the power i want to make only cause i want the car to be able to drive on the street to so maybe 350hp would be good for the street but 400hp sound very nice to lol

If thats your power goal then the 2871r is probably your best bet. It IS the popular upgrade for the SR. Do a search on this forum on it and you'll find some dyno sheets and reviews.

don't think its a bolt on thing. You will need at least an upgraded head gasket, and larger cams to do that kind of power. Its not a cheap upgrade.

i would suggest having fun with your car and what you have before you think you know what you want because you saw it on a drift video or someone's spec sheet. Ride in different people's cars to get an idea of how hard a 400whp will pull. a 300whp 240 will make you piss your pants i can almost guarantee that. They are well capable of doing a high 11 sec quarter mile pass just to give you an idea... thats quick.

2871R can be used on stock motor with just upgrades of ECU, Injectors, MAF, Cams, and Intake Manifold to reach 350-400hp. Ive ran stock headgasket for 10k miles on the 2871R @ 19psi making near 400hp. 300hp 240 can blast low-mid 12's while a 400hp 240 can blast low-mid 11's. 112mph from 300hp and 121mph from 400hp in the 1/4.

just want to let you know you are also talking about over a 1000 lbs weight difference too. s13 2728 lbs s14 2821 lbs shelby 3920 so 300whp in a 240 is alot
