ok so I thought I was having vac or timing problems. Once I got all of that fixed and properly timed I still couldnt rev past 2500 rpms... I noticed that air was coming out of the intake side of my turbo, I was like WTF!!! then I looked at my manifold and wow glowing orange, I could see thru it! What could cause this to happen, before the motor blew cause I boosted WAY too much and now it is like the turbo is backed up or somthing and obviously not working! I am pricing a new center section for my turbo, also pricing a new turbo! '

This turbo project is freaking killing me. When I get money for body kit and rims somthing else happens it sucks. I have a dyno reservation on saturday so I need to get somthing done by then!

Thanks for any prognosis that y'all can come up with about the turbo!

Could you post some pics for us?

When you say the mani was orange and you could see through it...what exactly does that mean??? Do you mean it was glowing because of the heat?

I run nearly the same turbo/mani (SSA topmount, Garrett T3/T04E .50 trim, .60 A/R, .63 A/R turbine) and have never seen my manifold orange. I'm sure it gets that way while boosting, but I'm not out there lookin' at it then.

Post some pics if ya' would, please.

Only time I've seen headers glow when not racing was if the timing was way to retarted and the combustion gasses were still burning leaving the exhaust valves. But you said the timing was o.k.?!?

i will check the timing her in like 25 minutes but 1 quetion to that is why is air exiting the the intake side of the turbo?

is air exiting it, or is exhaust exiting it?

I suppose massive intake manifold backfires could conceivably force air out the inlet of the compressor. Again this would point to faulty timing. What's the engine sound like when it's running?

I dont think that it is exhaust air, but I changed my timing and it is still off but the exhaust isnt glowing anymore! I am having the guy at the dyno shop set my timing because I aparently get it dialed in. Oh well it should all be running good and pushing 300 whp tomarrow, with safe tuning, Hopefullly!
