they all do the same thing basically right? and can they fit on any car or do they specify which they are made for?

They are universal, the only difference is which wires to install them on from car to car. Some have special functions like 1/4 mile times, sensing when to shut down by themselves after a cars hard run, etc, but I could care less about that crap. Basically if you dont have a turbo and still want one they are useful for running into the local 7-11 to grab some food and leaving the heat or ac running. Once the ebrake is dropped the engine will stop so no worries about amateur thievery.

For more in depth descriptions about what each can do just look at the companies sites, there is a reason why most are $100 or less, because they dont do all that much.

so basically if i want one that will keep my car running for 2 minutes to cool down before shut down then i should just get one of those 30 buck ones? all i need it for is to cool down my turbo properly

if thats what your looking for, just leave your car running then go back and shut it off...thats free : )
