turbo timer not working?

Okay, I installed an HKS type-o turbo timer and everything lights up and I can go through the functions, but when I turn the key off it shuts off and doesn't count down. Everything is wired like it should be, I just don't know what could cause it to do this. Please help?

not sure about the type-0, but is it triggered off the ebrake switch?
