Turbo Timer Help

Im having some trouble with my Turbo Timer, I just got the 1000 top fuel from phase 2... And have a 93 s13 KADE

I got everything hooked up right, Got the wire connected to the e-brake, the wire connected to the o2 sensor and the ground on the ecu, and the wiring harness connected to the ignition switch.. its hard to explain.

When i crank it up The timer starts counting down, If I am turn the switch off while in countdown the car will stay on and shut off when the timer expires.. If I keep the car on and let it countdown the car still runs... but If i shut the car off after the countdown, it turns all the way off.. And the countdown doesnt begin again until I crank the car back up??

PLEASE explain the phenom??
