I just found a sweet deal from a buddy for 2 td04 turbos from a 3000gt fo $70. I just wanted to know if these are good/reliable turbos. I'm only planning on running like 7psi and hopefully getting 240-250hp, i'm just trying to do a lil winter project on the "cheap"

If you get them that cheap, you should try to put both of them on there.

I dunno man. I think if you take the 3.0L motor and divide it by 2, it's gonna give you 1.5Liters of motor. Put one turbo on a 2.4L that is made for a "1.5L", it's gonna run out of poop.

I went to public school in FL, so I didn't even learn to vote right. But someone correct me if I sound dumb..

but they also use these turbos on subies i think, they're both td04. I think it would just be like running the turbo at higher psi on a 3000gt i dunno im just a public schooled individual too.

Does anyone use the turbo(s) off a 300zx? Cause thatd be like the same thing right? the 3000gt and the 300zx are both v6's and both twin turbo'd, so if it works for one, then it should work for the other right? Now i just got to see if anyone has used a 300zx turbo

Get them for me and ship them and I'll pay you for your time as long as they aren't bad.

I have a post up right now about using a T22 from a 300ZX TT. Calculations show that it SHOULD be possible. My research shows that the limit on a VG30DETT using stock turbos is about 400 hp. A NA 300ZX has about 200 hp. It would follow that each of the turbos is good for about 100 hp tops. 240-250 hp might be pushing it a little, but is should be good for it.

I don't think you're going to hit 240 hp at 7psi with a small turbo and a KA24DE though.

Your right. It would work, but I'm not sure you would even get that much hp. Your taking single turbo that was meant to give airflow for 3 cylinders at a displacment of only 1.5 liters. On paper, a t-25 will push more hp than it will in the real world, which is about 250 max give or take.I'm a fan of small turbo's for their ability to spool up quickly and give you a quick boost. Personally thats what I desire on the street anyway.

That's why I run a GT28RS Disco! 10psi at like 2200rpm, give or take depending on temp. I love it. It's like driving a V8, it's so linear with the power. No flash spool. Awesome on the street like Zippy said.

Sorry, I've been way busy. You made the right choice by not buying those turbo's. They are to small for the 3.0 in the 3S let alone as a single on the KA. The 300ZX turbo's are the same.

You can't just look at the TDO4 either, there are trims to be considered.

There isn't any turbo that comes from a twin turbo car that I'd use on my KA. They are simply to small.

ya, i havent turbod anything yet, so i fugred i should start out with something that is already greatly accepted within the ka-t community. So i passed on the offer and im looking up t25's now, just somethin small so i can start off simple and work my way up once i learn enough
