Hi, I just got a turbo off from a 86 300ZX, I want to rebuild it before I use it( would that be a good idea, or dont touch it ) however, i need some diagram show the part of the turbo , would anyone got a service manual of that year model . also i want to know how can I test the turbo if it is fine before I use it? like a presure check and stuff? etc.

Send it in and have it rebuilt...cost should be around 200 bucks.

There is no pressure check or anything, you can spin the compressor wheel and see if it is hard to spin or if it wobbles.

Regardless if it is from a junkyark I would rebuild before letting it touch my car.

Unfortunately you cannot rebuild it, well, you can up to a point, but it has to be balanced. Unless you can spin the wheel at 150,000rpm and balance it by hand you're out of luck. Sorry.

I believe turbonetics in quoted me $200 when I was thinking about using a junkyard turbo.
