can someone please recomend me a turbo.

IT HAS TO BE T3 OR T4 based, cause i need a top mount manifold in my car for space. the manifold i have is for t3/t4.

im looking for a rough idea on what are good specs to run, and a good place to buy from.

my engine is stock internally, it will have a full 3" exhaust, fmic, pod filter setup, and an upgraded fuel pump.

MY CAR IS NOT AN S13, I CANT USE THE STOCK T25/T28 STYLE TURBO, PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME OTHERWISE.

thank you, mike

I'd get a t3/t4. it's going to depend what you want to do with the car as for the specs. I personally wouldn't use anything larger than a .63A/R on the turbine side for street use, but I'm an autoX'r and I hate lag. I'm actually thinking about putting a .48A/R housing on my S14 turbo to reduce the lag, but I'm gonna see how it runs with the .63 before I do that. I've done some "stuff" to reduce the lag, so I might be alright.

Gimmie some more imput in regards to your goals with the turbo and I can give you some more imput.

my main goal is to get the car running so i can drive it. its been 2 years since ive had it driveable.

it will be a little of everything, nice car to drive on nice days, car shows, maybe occasional trips to drag strip/autocross/drift.

but for the most part i want it a driveable car nothing crazy.

i have my s13 to go crazy with if i crash that it no big deal, i really dont want to kill a 510, they are few and far between.

oh, my friend has a wrecked merkur xrt turbo thing.(same engines setup as tbird turbo coupe, mustang svo etc.)

anybody know anything about these turbos? i can get the whole setup for next to nothing and just have it rebuilt i guess.

cheaptturbos.com does rebuilds for $250 and everyone seems to be happy with their work.

thanks for all the input, this car will be the death of me.

I'd go with a good ol' T3 off of a Z31 or a TurboCoupe.

My posts get deleted alot. I don't get it.

As I posted before:

t3/t04b or e in .48 or .63. b .48 for 300whp, .63 for 350whpe .48 for 350whp, .63 for 400whp

Those are some ballpark figures from looking at lots of dyno charts and stuff.

Perfect. Good choice.

I want to add that I read many of the posts in the Freshalloy links and I have come to the realization that lots of the info that gets thrown around is grossly exaggerated and often based on a single trial. When Scott (Enthalpy) said that the GTiR turbo made 9 psi on an SR at 4100 rpm that put me over the top. I have that turbo on my CA and I see 1 bar at 4100 rpm!

Don't be swayed by 1 person saying what is what even if they play a large role in our little community.
