In California, if the aftermarket parts added to the car are not issued a CARB EO number, then they are technically illegal. Now as far as auto manufacturers go, their cars have to meet emissions laws and such to be legal to drive on US roads. Everyone from Ford to Hyundai have to pass. Because turbo cars from the factory came with the turbo from the factory, it is considered a part of the car that has passes emissions. Thanks to all of the little doo dads and such that make a car emissions legal, manufacturers can include whatever form of induction they want. It is not the fact that the car is turbo or not that makes it legal or not. Now if you live out of Cali, your car need only pass a tailpipe emissions test, not the full on visual inspection like they have in Cali. For me, in crap ville Texas, I don't even have to run a cat 90% of the time:D

Yes, yes they are. BUT they're for the S14's the last time I checked.

And over here in VA, as long as you have the emmissions equipment in place they will pass you. They don't sniff :D

GReddy is trying to get it exempt, but as of yet, it is still illegal.

On a side note: It must just suck living in California. Every girl has fake breasts, all you can get is 91 octane, and every cop writes you a ticket for your air intake.

It's not really that bad here. 240's are still fairly low on their radar. But like anything, the more the car stands out, the more attention ut gets. Even from the people you don't want attention from. Sleepers rule.

An no, the Greddy Kit for the S14 has not received a CARB EO number yet. Greddy is vague as to even how likely they will try to get the EO number.

Im am new to the 240s thing and I dont know too much about the ka's potential. The ka is a 2.4 liter right. and the sr is a 2 liter right. Correct me if im wrong. Dosent that mean that the ka has more potencial then the sr if bothe hooked up equally? Would the ka motor produce more power than the sr20 if both equally hooked up the same? and Im talking about a 91 ka motor.

Please let me know because I would really like to learn more about my new car.

Contrary to popular belief, just because something only has OMFG ONE CAM!!!!11!1, doesn't mean it automatically sucks. I'm sure evryone else will clue you in to their favorite engine, I just wanted to point this out. ;)

I know that just because it has one cam doesn't mean it sucks. I have seen some pretty fast sohc cars. It just that it a lot easier to properly tune a dohc engine then a sohc one (cam adustments). Also alot cheaper since you dont have to get your cam custom made to the settings you want. Well in both cases you do need to get custom cams but you get more setings in a dohc engine than a sohc one. So if the 1 ka is dohc why is there people tryng to drop sr motors in there cars. Looking at the stats the ka looks like a better motor. Can any one clarify that for me. I know the sr come turbo but you can do the same with a ka motor and it will be cheaper than getting a sr motor from JAP.

Its cool. I didn't take it personal. I know people are usually defensive about there cars and I am too. I just don't let it get to me.

So can anyone tell me why is the SR motor so popular of a swap if it has a smaller engine than the KA? Im going to hopefully pick up my 240 tomorrow. Im so exited and cant wait to get it.:D I would like to know as much I can about them so It can at least let me sleep tonight. Man I love those cars they are so sweet.

I found it off autotrader. I called the girl today and she decided to sell the car to somebody else. I offered to pay for the whole car last monday when she still had it and she told me I don't have to because she will hold it for me not to worry about it. Then she didn't hold to her word and sold it anyways. Now I need to look for another car to buy. Im really sad right now.:(
