Hello, i'm a total newbie and still have alot to learn about the world I got myself into when I bought my 93tt back in may 2017. I've been enjoying the car casually and am looking to get more serious about it when the weather warms up. The car previously had JWT Sport BB disco potato turbos (how they were described on the for sale listing) but they were changed out to these turbos when one started to burn oil, I wish he would have just had the JWT Sports rebuilt, but whatever. http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAP ... cureDesc=0

So, my AIR/FUEL gauge reads around 14.5 when cruising around and drops to around 11-12 when under load.
I was told the car should be retuned, from my understanding the car has a JWT chip in it as well.
What steps involve a re-tune in this situation?

Wow, that ad for those turbos would have me running the other way...and yeah, too bad they didn't stick with the JWT's (which BTW are not "disco potato", which is another brand's nickname) as they are quality units FOR SURE, unlike that ad. I have the 530bb's and LOVE them.
My advise is a dynotune from a shop that at minimum has dealt with Nissan's and preferably the Z32, as the fuel maps and such need to be optimized for your current setup and most importantly, any issues identified and fixed before dialing in more power, such as the proper supporting mods for exhaust, oil and cooling, etc. This requires a tunable chip which in theory your JWT is, and for that tuner to be fluent with JWT tuning- highly likely with most capable Nissan tuners, but do ask ALL questions about his ability to deal with a Nissan and more specifically, the Z32. DO NOT accept "they're all the same" and "I can tune anything" as viable responses here, the tuner MUST have Z32 experience or I'd move on to the next in an instant.
That should get you moving in the right direction, and if I've missed anything hopefully someone else chimes in...good luck!

Your tune sounds fine, cruising at nearly stoich will give the best fuel economy and the rich condition under load will keep you from making holes in the side fo your engine block.

The ecu on these cars goes by metered air, so if doesn't matter if the turbo's changed the tune stays the same so long at the fuel injectors dont get changed, the only real difference would be to tune spark curve to match the spool up of the current turbo, but this is just to get max power and has nothing to do with your afr.

I wouldnt complain about afr numbers like that.

What else is done to the car? Having big turbos like that and nothing else done would be a little odd.

You will definitely need a Z32 specific guy to be able to go over all of your mods and such in order to be able to problem solve and tune it.
