Well we found out what was wrong with my RB, with it burning oil. It ended up being the turbo. Long story short I am in the market for a different turbo. But I want to know what the Max .AR and trim I can get while still using the stock MAF and ECU. I plan on getting a SAFC or something from some sort of fuel management but whats the max size turbo I could get without going stand alone or another MAF. Thanks

Whats your budget? can you afford a external waste gate? and a new downpipe?

The downpipe is no biggie, I had someone make a custom one already so that can be remade. And I would like to stay internal for the time being because I would like to keep the cost down as much as possible. As far as budget idk I was looking to spend in the 500ish range if need be. I know thats not alot but, I am hoping to find a decent used turbo if anything. More or less just looking for what specs of a turbo I should be looking for with a stock RB25.

I found a Garrett Super 60 for around 500. But I think that would be too large of a turbo to stay on stock injectors. Or could I get a SAFC and be ok? Thanks

Why not just buy another stock 25 turbo, that way your only cost is the turbo itself? Use it till you can save enough to do a decent set-up. Half-assing stuff is not a good idea.

just if you didnt know, the garrett super 60 is a peice of ****, its the turbonetics super 60 you want. you should be fine with the stock injectors and stock maf as long as you run low boost. injectors can handle 240whp safely and maf can handle around 300whp(disputable).

my $.02...

Admittedly, I don't know RB25's like I do Rb20's, but.. .

Unless you can afford and are ready to install a new MAF, injectors, and engine managment, there's no reason to go with anything larger than an RB25 turbo.

You can only make as much power as the weakest link will afford you.. See Jesse's post above.

Ok then let me rephase my question....what would be a different turbo I could run that isnt stock. I really dont want to get another stock turbo because with my luck it will break pretty quick after I get it haha. I dont care so much if its a HUGE turbo I just want something other than stock that will work....if thats possible, if not well then I have some thinking to do.

I say get that turbonetics super 60 and keep the boost down low. Worst case is your going to max you maf out at really low boost. Car should be a beast with a better than stock turbo tho. Do you have a wideband? or some kinda software line nissan data scan to keep track of engine info?

i think the z31 turbo is a little bigger, you could try looking up the specs for it. you can always port it also.
