I have 8.5:1 pistons, topmount (non twinscroll) manifold, intake manifold, highmount intercooler, nistune, r34 570/580cc injectors, z32 maf.

I ran a HY35 on 1-1.3bar but the oil seal failed, Rebuilding it or finding a new center housing is expensive.

I have a Holset local I could get for 300 but I'm unsure of another one.
Friend suggested a used Garrett

I looked at some new Garretts bal bearing priced around $1700

Any model turbo (size, brand) that you suggest?

I want around 450-550hp on 91oct gas for now (possibly e85 in future 600hp range)

I plan to drift to the vehicle so I want a responsive feel. .63-.78 range exhaust side

Another holset is probably the best price and power option, but something new/newer that's ball bearing would be nice. I may have up to a $2000 budget so any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks Tim

I think a 6466 is going to be too big to have any kind of drifting response. The biggest PT turbo I'd run would be a 6262 and even that isn't going to give you decent response for drifting. Frankly, I'd go with something even smaller with a 5858.

If you don't mind dropping some cash, the BW EFR turbos will give you the most linear and responsive turbo, but they run about $2k.

Why not try the Garrett gtx line, the gtx30 will make same power or more than the gt35 and they aren't that high in price.. Smaller exhaust housing and u have a nice response..

The smaller turbos generally won't make the same power as the larger units on the same boost.. so you would likely have to run 25lbs on pump gas to get 550 out of a 3076 were a 6466 or 6262 would make more power with less boost and keep you safer in the pump gas range..

i hate how garrett doesnt include the exhaust housing so with the T3 3" vband option its close to $2000. the BIllet wheel gtx series seems nice but other companies have them now.

I also am spoiled running just an oil cooled turbo, given the option I would prefer not to run a water line for my turbo.

I was recommended to look at COMP Turbos have to call for pricing from what I saw (didnt look on google yet)

i want between 450-500 on pump but if I hit full boost around 4000rpms I'd be happy.

I was debating staying with a .63 exhaust but my friend suggested the .81. Opinions from personal experience?
