MY turbo sounds really weird and loud. Just want to make sure nothing out of the ordinary here. And this question may sound really really dumb. I've never ridden in another SR 240 ever. But a lot of my friends have boosted hondas and DSM's and the like and none of theirs sounds anything like mine. The spooling isn't like a normal turbo spool sound. It sounds almost like a supercharger whine or something. and its REALLY loud in the cabin. You can here it outside the car but it doesn't sound oddly loud or anything. But it still sounds weird. But in the cabin you here it like over my stereo and exhaust and ****. This can not be right. Anyone that rides in my car is like "dear lord what the **** is that sound'' th ats how loud it is. Im not really complaining because eh it doesn't really bother me. Just want to make sure nothing is wrong or anything. oh and the car is still on the stock T2small on 7psi. Oh yeah and the car has 3" test pipe, downpipe, and apexi n1 exhaust and once this ***** spools you can barely even here the sound of the exhaust. So is this normal or what?

You have a boost controller for it? Make sure it isnt spoolin higher boost... My friend had a GSX and his Turbo sounded like that and the only thing he had done was a bigger turbo and fly wheel..... He was running 15 Psi....

Do you happen to have an aftermarket flywheel? EVen though I dont know how it would change the exhuast sound.... Also do you have a boost gauge to tell its boosting correctly?

I just got my SR finish yesterday and havnt picked it up yet so I cant say if its wierd or not.

yes I have a MBC, its set at 7psi, and I have a boost gauge to confirm that and it spools hard but yeah it stops at 7.

You have a manifold leak. Or your down pipe might not be connected to your car. My car was like that my downpipe was connected by 1 bolt!!! lol and it dident hit 13 PSI untill around 4500 RPM but seeing how your spooling to 7 i dont think you will notice a lag. Now when you spool it does it not sound smooth and clean? If it sounds SOMEWHAT like a musle car it is most likly you dont have bolts connected or you could have a broken manifold seal. The noise i am talking about is very hard to describe. Heres a easy was,can you hear a whissle when it spools? Because what you have described sounds EXACTLY like what myne was like. Jack your car up and make sure the down pipe is hooked up properly, then if it is take off your hot pipe and intake and look around and under the manifold as best as possible and look for a crack. If that doesent work, turn your car on and smell around your motor bay and see if you can smell the carbondioxide. And people dont mind if some of this doesent make sence it is 9:31 am for me and i am at school and i am tired lol

it spools really steady and everything. I'll check the downpipe tonight. It doesn't sound like a muscle car either. Have you ever heard a blown car? It sounds EXACTLY like a super charger. The sound doesn't exactly sound like a whistle it sounds more like a "whine"

if it sounds anything like mine did, it's definitely a boost leak

if it was a boost leak he wouldn't be registering boost on his gauge or at least not as much as the turbo was putting out....but i'm not sure, it could be a really small one.

if you have one a vid recorder would help so we could hear what your talking about
