Hey,

I just wired in my s-afc, did the regular diagnostic deal, hot wire 5 in 5 out, 4 cyl, etc. Everything works except the RPM signal! My idle isn't exactly tits, but it sure as hell isn't bouncing between 1100 and 2300 randomly. What could be going on here?

I have it set on 4 cyl, the with the arrow pointing up and to the right.

Has anyone with the SOHC also had this problem?

Thanks.

(I searched...didn't find anything  )

More info

I used the N3-b diagram as the apex'i US update sais to, and the '90 FSM I downloaded lists pin "3" where apex'i sais to tap as 'ignition check', and the reading should be idle speed. I specify it's a 90 FSM because I know there were some early production 89s with the 9.1:1 and who knows, I might have one, or have had one and the car has a 2nd motor, and the ECU may be slightly different....lots of variables here. Any help is appreciated.

I have one as well, mounted right under my cd player.

Alas, it's not wired in yet, due to damn finals.

I have the SAFC II on my sohc. Mine works fine. I don't know what to tell you except check the wiring for good connections and the other obvious stuff you've probably already checked. The tach signal wire should be on a white wire right?

Edit: yellow wire with a red stripe

:rolleyes

I moved it to the dash harness wire, exact same deal.
