so now I am moving on from the Holset hx35 to a BB turbo and with that, could the stock oil feed pressure be ether addiquit or over kill? ........... and with my setup (RB25, Walbro, 50lb 550s, Greddy intake with 90mm TB, GM coil pack, AEM-ECU, NO!!! MAFM, cometic HG, ARP studs, STOCK internals, all 3" piping, large IC, top mount mani, 44mm WG, wideband) and with the HX35 I made just over 300 WHP @14 psi ........ and now I am looking to make some properly tuned and reliable 380 to 420 WHP and like most people "I want my cake warm and eat it too" lol so yeah as for spool up time here is a video showing how the Holset spools now.

http://youtube.com/my_videos_e...m%3D1

I was happy with spool in the video and am looking/searching ideas for a BB turbo that can make boost as early or earlier ......... I am thinking about sizing the turbo to be near maxed out @ around 400WHP with this setup>in exchange for faster spool up time........ whats your experience and opinion on this? Here is a turbo size ideas> Turbonetics T3/T4 60 series 48 A/R T04E 50 trim ??.....

thanks a lot for all the help this far I will be sure to post a RPM to boost video after install.....

hear is what it looks like now>>>>>

I can't see the vid because I am at work. When are you getting full boost?

But a 2876r (or maybe even 2871r) would be a pretty good choice.. Lightening spool on an RB and should max out right around 400whp.

Otherwise if you want just a little more potential you can step up to something like a 3071r in exchange for a little extra spool time.

3076r is a great turbo, but also a little big if he is looking for sheer spool. The 3076r can do right around 500whp if you want it to.

I thought the Holset was good for around 500HP?

LOL, How the hell did you make a little over 300 rwhp with a Holset HX35.... are you sure it wasnt an HY35?

i made a little over 300 rwhp on my STOCK turbo.

300whp isn't all that bad considering it was only at 14psi.

In any case, all the BB garrets I have listed above should easily spool before 3500. I'd bet you get full boost on the 2871 somewhere in the high 2000s, and on the 3071 about 3300 or so.

Even if that is an HY35 at 14 psi, you should be making more than 300 rwhp easy. I cant imagine an HX35 ( which that one doesnt look like ) making that little on 14 psi, i made that much power at 13/14 psi on my stock turbo, i'd say you've got some serious issues elsewhere.

If you want a BB turbo, to my knowledge, this is the biggest internally gated turbo garret makes, and is retarded responsive. We used one of these on a customers SR20 and it went like crazy. They also have an external gated version, which would probably work better for you since you already have that manifold. http://www.atpturbo.com/Mercha...e=GRT

GT-R series is really the most over rated, over priced turbo ever. The only advantage that the GT-R series has vs its standard journal bearing counterpart is between 150-300 rpms spool up time. Its also got a huge price tag, and is not rebuildable.

When comparing a GT3076 to lets say... A Borg Warner s258...

The GT3076 will spool slightly faster. It will cost 1.5 times as much. It is not rebuildable. It will produce less HP per PSI of boost than the s258.

Most of the big HP drag guys have already made the switch.

Borg Warner extended tip > Garretts GT-R series IMHO.

What about the Garrett GT32 (GT3271), Looks like it can put out around 450-500RWHP and still Spool Really quick. Plus its ALOT cheaper. Im looking at this turbo myself, I wanna keep the Stock Mani for a while, So this looks like a good upgrade, Also it comes internal or external wastegate, Your choice.

Mike, why not go with an FP 3065?
