alrite im lookin for a little help here pickin out a turbo. im gonna be sticking with pretty low boost for awhile. planning on using a tial with a 4 psi spring for everyday driving and then an mbc to go up from there. i will boost to around 8 or 9 psi occasionally. i want a lot of power down low, with very little lag. i was planning on using a t3, but everyone has told me its a waste of time. im just looking or a little more input on the subject, cuz i dont have 300+ whp goals.looking at this site http://www.turbocalculator.com/sale-garrett.php , they have a t3 for 299, which looks very appealing to me. but its only a .48 a/r, which seems a little choked. any input would be appreciated.

thanks marc

I got my turbo from this same site. When it comes down to it I spent 440 bucks. I got the super 60 compressor and a .63 a/r for the turbine side. After adding up all of the stuff from turbo calculator that is about 500 bucks for a t-3. Damn, they most have gone up big time. But oh well, the t-3 suits my needs nicely and don't think I would change the way I did things for my budget.

yeah i think thats what i would ideally want, but for that much money its kind of a tough call. im still lookin around for used z31 turbos that are in good shape. i dont really want to throw down 500+ on a turbo that i will never use over 10psi. im tryin to put real money into tuning and reliability stuff first.

that is kind of funny. I am running 9.55 psi on it now and it still pulls really good and suits my needs right now, although I am used to the boost and think that it is slow. When I had my faulty wastegate I was running 15 psi and I don't know how to explain the feeling, but it was just incredible. I have no idea what the hp was on it, but a friend drove my car and drove a friends Camaro SS and said that they felt pretty similiar. The boost did not drop at from 3000 rpm to 6700 rpm. It was nice.

Well if you need anymore help in selecting a turbo or anything else let me know.
