Hi, I am new to the forum and recently purchased a 2005 Infiniti G35X (All wheel drive). I am checking into lowering kits, new wheels, engine performance and such.

So first, does anyone know how to lower an AWD car? Do I need just the springs? Do I need to buy coilovers? What do I need??? I will figure out the wheels later.

Next, what would be the best parts to help the performance of the engine? I have looked into turbo's and most are for the G35, but not the X. Can you put a turbo on an AWD car?? Any sugestions on where to buy one/install one?

Thanks you for any posts and help you can offer. I am not that educated in cars and the mechanics of them.

Yes you can turbo charge or super charge an all wheel drive car. Many all wheel drive cars come turbo charged (Talon,EVO,GTR,Skyline,ETC).

The engine in the G35 and the G35X are going to be the same. Turbo charging either of them is possible. There are companies that make kits to do this. The problem with the G35X is going to be the exhaust. I am actually searching for exhaust for my buddies G35X so he can do a supercharger. Apparently, the exhaust for the G35 sedan and the G35X are different I guess. Either that or they just aren't mentioning they are the same.

With your level of knowledge, you are going to want to have a professional shop install all of your components. If you do this, be sure to find a shop that warranties their work.

As far as lowering the car, yes you can lower it, I'm sure there are many different aftermarket options to lower the G35X if you so choose. You will need to search for that. Either that or take your check book to a trusted performance shop and have them do the research for you.

I am little late to this, I know....

But like was said above.... It is entirely possible to lower and turbo your G35X. We have already Twin Turbo'd and lowered a couple G35X's before using a Jim Wolf TT kit (slightly modified) and the BC Racing coilovers available for the G35X. It is a little different than what is required to do/use on the 2WD G35's but it does make for a nice daily driven pretty quick G35X.
