Ok, so I rebuilt my t28 and now i think I might have some problems when I install this thing on my manifold. The nut on the end of the turbine shaft on the compressor housing. It's pretty finger tight at the moment and there is nearly no play and it seems like it's perfect. The second I start to torque this nut, the play becomes less and less (which right now there is virtually no play at all before torquing) and the turbine becomes harder and harder to spin. As it is right now, I can spin the turbine hard and get it to rotate about 2-3 full turns. With it torqued down a bit, I won't even get half a turn.

Does anyone have any torque specs if there are any? Also, I dont recall forsure but is that a reverse thread? As the turbo spools up, will the nut torque itself up too much?

Honestly you probably should let the guy who is going to rebalance that turbo for you worry about torquing that nut. They will torque it down and then remove any metal needed to balance the rotating assembly. That nut is reverse threaded and it needs to be tight enough that the compressor wheel doesnt spin on the shaft when you spin it (which it sounds like it was doing).

this is one thing i think is better left to a "professional" (i.e. some schmuck with the proper equipment).
