My RB25 turbo is starting to wine some and smokes a little when first driving. Wheres a good place to send it to be rebuilt? Also is there any kind of things i can do to it to give a little more power? Please dont suggest new turbos, im keeping my RB mostly stock for reliability.

where would someone send their turbo off to replace the nylon wheel...also, could you get a bigger exhaust wheel? to up the cfm?

i want something close to gt3071r that will stick on my factory manifold and will handle 15+ psi!

It can't be rebuilt, but it can be modified to be rebuilt though.New shaft, new wheels and i believe they bore the housing.

Find a diesel shop or a turbo shop to do it for you. There's also a place in AU that'll do it.Check the SAU forums.

Z31 T3 turbo non BB will fit up.Oil only, no water.

Thanks. Ill check the Diesel Shop near me and see what they would be able to do. What are the exact specs of the RB25 turbo?

so lets say if you wanted to just swap the exhaust wheel for a vg30 turbo exhaust wheel, it cant be done?

what is the ballpark price for changing the shaft and wheels so it can be rebuildable and handle more boost?

anyone have a guess as to what a diesel shop would charge ? I mean obviously prices differ but has anyone actually had this done and can give a price.

I was able to get my bb repaired by atpturbo . Great service. It is a Ball bearing turbo so it cant be rebuilt but, Garret has a kind of trade in program. You sedn your turbo in to a participating Garrett dealer and they look at your turbo, they see if it qualifies for the program and they replace the CHRA, which is basically everything except the housing. It cost me about half of what a replacement would have cost me. good luck.

If I remember correctly, it was something retarded (over USD $2000) + shipping. But I could be wrong :-\

Call Charlie at Evergreen Turbo(800) 275-2531He's been my turbo guy since 1989 and rebuilt literally dozens of my turbos over the years. He has a very race oriented background but does stock rebuilds as well. He can upgraded, modify, whatever in-house. (300plus he's in Florida!)
