I have a 1996 s14 with a 98 s13 black top sr20det. The engine has been heavily modified, well...completely modified, other than solid lifeters, i can't think of anything else to do. I currently have a Forced performance big28 on the car pushing 18-20psi. I figure that it probibly is putting down 330-370hp to the wheels. I was wondering, is there any turbos out there that have spool charateristics of the big28 but are able to make ~450 whp?? is the garret gt25r a good candidate? I want it to start spooling at ~3.2k rpm, and at least be making 300hp by the time it reaches ~3.7k rpm.
My ideling problem. I have HKS step1 cams 264's in the head, greddy grex valve springs, greddy 1.3mm headgasket, blitz FMIC, blitz intake, Greddy high flow intake manifold, and a head port job. I also have a JWT ecu, msd 72lb/hr injectors jgy high-flow rail, and z32 MAFS.
I cant get my car to idel for ****......
first, It absolutely will not hold idel for a cold start.
second, it doesn't want to idel , it will sit there and jump around. from 1200rpm to ~2,300-2400 rpm, and sit there and bounce. after it does this for a while, it will rev itself up to ~3k rpm and stay there for ~15-20sec. then it will rev down and rev up in this same fashion for ~5 or 6 times, then it will finally start to idel, "very loppy due to the cams" but the way i would like it to stay and idel. It takes it ~5 -10 min for it to get this way. At a stoplight, it just bounces. I ended up blocking off the AIC valve, disconnecting it from the harness. now it has better ideling characteristics, but still bounces and cuts out a little. plus if i set it to idel with just the throttle body, it will sit there and hold idel, but when it starts cooling down, the car eventually dies. I cannot find the point at which to open the throttle body to get it ideling properly.
the o2 sensor has been replaced with a brand new unit. the car runs fine when it isnt ideling. is there any way to get it to idel properly??? I was thinking about getting cam sprokets, and advancing the intake cam a little bit. the car has hardly any vacume.
any help is appreciated
thanks nick
