i blew my stock turbo for the second time... so i upgraded to a hks 2510, and i haven't been able to find a waste gate actuator for it... my question is would it hurt my car or my turbo to drive the car with out the actuator?

W/out a wastegate actuator, you basically have no wastegate. This means you have no way of getting rid of the excess pressure at the turbo.

If you drive like Grandma and never get into boost, you'll be ok. But if you get on it just once, you'll spike boost and wreck something.

Shouldn't be a problem, you just wont really make boost well... Your car might also run like **** because of that.... So would personally wait, not much point.

o. i see. i thought the actuator stayed shut untill the set PSI was reached then it opened to relieve excess pressure in the turbo...

Without the actuator, the gate will stay closed right? In which case it won't vent any of the exhaust gas after you hit what should be your safe boost limit, and you'll just keep building more and more boost...

Or is the other way around... with no actuator, the gate stays open and it will never build any boost at all?

no the valve that vents the wastegate gasses is just on a hinge the actuator is what actually keeps it from opening on its own. So it will just always be venting...

perfect example right there. heres a 2530 with no actuator.

on its face its closed from gravity

On its side you can see the valve is opened from gravity pulling it open.

bingo.

@BlAcK95sE:your car would run NA. you should be fine like that. make sure oil lines are connected to avoid damaging the turbo. you can make a bracket and mount your stock actuator on there. or you can do the poor man wastegate with a long spring for temporary boost. http://www.97supraturbo.com/New%20Turbo ... %20(4).JPG
