turbo question

as you all probly heard im tryin to get a 400whp setup with a bigger turbo and proper tuning. i know many people get the gt2871r, but garret is the most expensive turbo company out there is there another turbo i can maybe get to achieve that goal

if you go with a different turbo, you will probably end up paying more in the long run when it goes out sooner than the garrett would.

well that gt2871r is a great turbo.... It is like 1100 but its well worth it when ur shooting for that high HP.

My friend actually has an s13 with the stock manifold, 550 injectors, fmic, bov, gt2871r, and a tune on an SAFC. Hes making 320rwhp.... Thats not all that far from ur 400 mark and thats only on 14psi.

The jump was crazy, he was on 12 psi on a t25, went to the gt2871r on 12psi and was making 290 something whp. Bumped it up to 14psi and there u go..... 320.

Id say do that, get a nice manifold, probably do like an HG, and a few other things to insure that the motor can handle the boost.... crank it up to like 18-20psi and im sure ull be making 400whp on the gt2871r.
