I just recently posted a topic stating that I was looking for about 400-500 rwhp and I have revised my decision for that and go with 300-350 rwhp. I just wanted to know what would be the best turbo to go with: Garrett's GT2871RS (disco potato) or a T3/T4 turbo??? Ive heard from a few friends that they THINK it would be a T3/T4 but I don't know, I'm new and just starting my mods. Also, I have no idea why they said the T3/T4 was the better choice for reaching my horsepower goals. And what do I need to really look for when looking to buy good turbo for my KA? Anyone's input would be great, thanks!

First lesson, the T2 flanged turbo's are ALL to small for the KA24. It's not always about the compressor. The exhaust side is also a huge part of the equation. For you the BEST turbo is a T3/TO4E with a .63 AR exhaust housing. Any of the trims will work, I have a 50 trim myself.

63 trim? No such thing, but thanks for playing. The trim is for the compressor wheel. Each compressor has a MAP, which is dependent on the trim of the wheel. For instance, a 57 trim is good for a few more hp IF you are running more boost.

The 50 trim compressor wheel is the best over all wheel.
