Well, after luckin' out (all needed rebuilding!) on the last 3 used turbos I've gotten, I'm a glutton for punishment and about to purchase another. However, this person is letting me run the turbo BEFORE I pay him, to see how I like it. Gotta love friends of friends.

Anyhow, I need to know if anyone has any experience with this particular size.

T3/T04e GarrettEX. .63 A/R (I know that's pretty much the norm for 300+whp applications)Comp. .70 A/R (4" inlet!)

Not sure of the trim on the compressor wheel and I couldn't find a map of this turbo. Anyone know what kind of power this thing is gonna make on say, 7-8psi? With my current fuel/tune setup I know I really can't do more than 240ish whp. Will this turbo surge on low boost? Anyone have a map of it? Wondering what kind of 12-14psi power to expect when I upgrade the fuel/tuning systems later.

Oh, setup is currently:

KA24DESSA maniDelta 38mm WG.FMIC370's255 in the tankstock railstock mafstock ECUSAFC2Base timing 15* BTDC

Thanks in advance for all the help. Just tryin' to get my car back on the road ASAP.

Turbocalculator.com has a map.

My understanding is that it's the turbo of choice for 275 - 450HP. You should be over 300HP at 14Lbs. I think they generaly have a 50 A/R compressor housing.

I have a factory remanufactured one I'm selling if the other one doesn't work out. I'm only going 225 max so I'm looking to downgrade.

Hmmm, can't get turbocalculator website to load. Might be a problem on my end.

This turbo has a compressor that's stamped "Garrett .70 A/R" and I can fit a Mug Root Beer can in the inlet...with room around the edges.

your fuel system doesn't llok too bad for uppping the boost other than getting new injectors, just don't forget about controlling timing as boost increases.

Many people on here are running that setup. Just search. I personally feel it is too small to have to wait for the little bit of spool you will get, but I love a little lag if it means big torque. Just search and you will find what you are looking for. Jurand and NissanFanatic are but two of them.

BTW, how much luck have you had with the SSAC mani? I am going to try to run it w/ a modded SSAC WG. Let me know what you think.

So far I've run that mani for a year with no problems. We'll see how it does with the extra weight (bigger turbo/external gate).

Well, I tried to post the map but that feature isn't turned on. Just google it.

Anyway, I haven't seen a 70 A/R compressor with that trim and I don't know how that effects things. Are you sure about the specs?

It's my understanding that the compressor A/R has little effect other than how much air it can actually move. It shouldn't affect spool.

Wouldn't buy anything from turbocalculator, They were one of the company's I was going to use when I was originally starting WDRacing a few years ago. Service is bad and the products aren't very good either.

I'd love that turbo though. The .63 AR exhaust housing combined with a .70 compressor is a good choice I think.

Like Chezedik said, the AR on the comp side is more of as volume consideration, the lag would be how big the wheel is and the AR of the exhaust housing.

Should be spooled by 4grand I'd say.

Well, here's what it is:

T3/T04e .50 trim comp., .63 a/r turbine housing.

I swapped the ginormous .70 compressor housing with a .50, since my power goals are still only around 300ish and I didn't want to buy more couplers. Maybe later I'll swap it back on.

Test drove the car a sec ago and no problems, other than a couple rattles and a leak at the downpipe to exhaust pipe connection. Minor problems.

Thanks all for the help.

WD,

Slightly off topic, but who would you recommend for buying turbochargers?

Edit: BTW, love that you're rockin' Master Shake for your avatar!
