We pulled the turbo off my car yesterday to begin the swappage process with my buddies rb25 turbo. We take off my turbo and notice movement between the center section and where the center section goes into the turbine housing, like the entire compressor housing and center move inside the turine housing. Very strange. Anyway, my buddy takes it to a turbo shop in Nashville this morning and they say that the whoever put it togther completely fubared it. THe compressor wheel is the complete wrong wheel, the fins on the turbine wheel are bend over, and other various things are wrong I dont know. This is pretty discouraging, since this was on my car for 500 miles and especially discouraging since I might not get as good a deal out of this turbo swap as I though. I was going to get his turbo plus $250, but I definately will not keep that price on it now since it needs a full rebuild. I'm thinking $100 plus his assistance in getting mine to run. Anyway, I'm thinking these problems were the reason my car wouldn't pull on my buddies t25 KA-T, I mean this turbo takes a while to spool, but when it does it isn't anything drastic like I thought it would be from such a large turbo. Anyway, kinda depressing and definately scary if that thing had broken anything while on my car.

So alas, the turbo wo's begin lol.

Well that's a bummer man. I was looking forward to hearing about a clean swap with good results. But there is always the potential of something going wrong with ANYTHING related to a KA motor or 240 for that fact, LoL. It seems to me that if it can go wrong.... it will. But that's my luck and I thought I was the only one doomed with it.But good luck man, and let us know how things go! I'm curious as to how good a RB25 turbo does on our KA!

yea the car ran strong even with the screwed turbo, just not as strong as it should have apparently.

rb25 turbo should be money on the ka, i hope.
