Ok so one of my friends has a Turbo for sale that was upgraded to a T28 (not ball bearing) It cost him $550 for the upgrade. Turbo hits boost at 2000rpm on a SR he made 280whp @ 18psi

He's going to a bigger turbo and is selling this one.. Turbo was rebuilt about 10 months ago, car is a daily driver so I would expect it has about 7-10k miles on it.

How much should I offer for it?

It doesn't hurt to offer low and then bargain up . You never know maybe the dude will be desperate. It's allways worth a try all he can do is say no.

it cost him 550 to have it rebuilt and he used it as a daily driver for 10 months..and you gotta know he didnt just "drive" it..i say start at 200 and if it were me dont go more than 300 but thats just me...he cant expect to make almost every dollar that it cost him back..plus its not even dual ball bearing

I know what he did with it... Street raced, drifted every week or so and went to drift events, So yeah it's seen some heavy use.

exactly..thats why i would offer him the 200 first but not go more than 300 for the fact that its seen heavy use and its not dual ball bearing..like i said though thats my opinion and what i would do if it were my money but its your money..good luck let us know

When you say turbo hits boost by 2000 RPM are you saying it hits FULL boost by 2000 RPM or just starts boosting past 0 psi by 2000 RPM? Because if its the first, you are sadly mistaken. If that's what he told you, smack him on the head. If it's the latter, that's meaningless to me.

Anyways, If it was my turbo and it REALLY was rebuilt and it REALLY has low mileage after rebuild I would want to sell it for 500~600 dollars.

If I were you tho.... I would go with a GT2871R or bigger haha

I'd say don't waste your money on it. Just because it seems like a good deal doesn't mean it is. Just rock out the T-25 for awhile then go "big-boy" later. I'm saving up for either GT2871 or GT35RS still not completely sure which way I wanna go.

yea Id wait on spending money on a bigger turbo unless I have enough money for bigger injectors, ECU, MAF, etc.

Otherwise, you can max out the injectors and MAF with a T-25 (it will be bad for the turbo but its possible) so no pt in upgrading the turbo with stock injectors and maf
