Besides changing the oil, a compression test and getting the timing checked, what are some other preparations for turboong the ka24? I hear the stock internals are good for 400+ hp and I plan on rebuilding after I turbo and get around 280-300hp. Any suggestions

I dont think a stock ka's internals can handle 400+hp. I think 250hp would be a more reasonable and safe number. And that is not taking into account what condition your engine is in.

if you want to maintain that power goal..get..Arp head, main, rod studsheadgasket made of MLS multi layer steel...or full coper..or copper multylayer..clevite bearingsPistons...id go with supertech myself..you get a free coating..cams...dual springs and retainers..with steel spring seats..or titanium..last but not least..the nismo racing oilpump and oil pressure perge valve kit...after your initial break in..switch compleatly to full synthetic..as synthetics wont break down like conventional oils under higher than oem heat and load..thats my advice...hope this helps some.
