ok so here's the story...i've got my manifold/turbo out of the car and i'm puttin a Greddy turbo extension on. there are 2 studs in and the rest are bolts (from turbo outlet to turbo)...i get bolts off, and i take the nuts off and remove the turbo outlet piece. I then remove one of the studs out of hte housing to replace them w/ new greddy studs...2 comes out ok, 2nd one shears off! wtf! so now i've got a tiny bit of stud inside the hole, it only comes up to maybe 2mm from the top of the hole, so you can imagine the problem here...can i just leave one bolt off? lol...help

no it's too deep for that...if the hole is 1 in deep...this stud broke at half an inch...hypothetically speaking of course...the hole isnt actually 1" deep but that's the idea

Best bet is to drill it out. Get a bit that is slightly smaller than the stud is and drill the center of the stud out. The hole shouldn't be blind, so you won't have to worry about bottoming out. Once it's drilled out, it should fall apart and come crumbling out of the housing. Get some air and make sure all the little pieces are blown clear then retap the hole. Since the housing is steel, you shouldn't have much trouble retapping it. Hell, I had to retap the three bolt holes on mine because they were all screwed up.

you'll be fine. This is a very easy operation. What I would do, though, is remove the turbine housing from the CHRA. It has four bolts holding it in and two half moon plates. The half moons are what basically holds it in. If it doesn't slide off easily, which it probably won'y, take a deadblow hammer to it and work your way around the housing tapping it off.

Make sure you have a tap and die set, too. You can pick up some decent ones at Sears. And when you're drilling, drill slowly. If you go fast, you'll burn the bit up. Drill slow enough that you're getting long metal twisties. Usually I speed up till all I'm getting are metal flakes, then I back the speed off bit by bit till i reach the best speed.

As for actual installation. It's way simple.

I prefer to install the outlet outside of the car because two of the bolts are a PITA to get to once the turbo is mounted. It will be a tight fit though because of the steering column and master cylinder.

If you can't get it in that way, take the outlet off and then mount the turbo. Then you'll have to put the outlet on in the car. Start with one of the lower nuts. It's easy to get on if you can have some wiggle room with the outlet. It's the nut/stud closest to the engine. The other PITA one to get to is the top bolt on the engine side.

Also, slather ALL bolts with anti-seize. you'll think yourself if you ever have to pull the turbo again.

If you need anything, shoot me an email and I'll be happy to help you or call you or anything you may need.
