Ok. First off let me say I have been working on cars my whole life. Sadly however, it was on muscle cars. *Hangs head in shame* But I converted after buying my first 240. But I digress..... I'm going to turbo my single cam cause my friend upped the turbo on his RB20 and gave me his turbo, IC, BOV, and piping! What I need to know is how do I tell what flange is on the turbo? It came off a R32 GTS-T. I need to buy a manifold and don't want to buy the wrong one. Is there a way to measure to find out for sure? I know a lot about cars, but nothing about turbos. From what I read 7psi is a good start point, but I also heard it depends on the turbo flange? Any pointers or pitfalls i should avoid? My car has 76k on it, and the motor is tight and strong, no smoke. I'm confident it will handle the turbo well. Also can anyone recomend a turbo timer and boost controller? I have an Apexi SAFC II now, and I was looking at an HKS EVC 5, but others seem cheaper. I don't mind spending the money on a good timer, so long as it's justified. I just can't shell out the 2k for a stand alone. Is there anything else I should get when I turbo? My current set up is an injen intake on a stock single cam, 'custom" exhaust that the guy before me put on, the SAFC II, NGK platinums, and I changed to a rb20 FPR and injectors. I also have a five lug swap planned and I have a set of R32 brakes ready to go on when i do. (Just need some good rims.) I have an R33 diff and a walbro going in it. I'm running the OEM springs on GR-2s.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,John

you can control your fuel with the safc2.. to a minimal point.get a tuned ecu.

iirc, r32gts-t are t25.. if im wrong, please dont quote me.i dont know of anyone making a t25 flanged turbo mani for the sohc, so you'll probably have to buy a log mani from jgs or something and fab your own.

muscle cars, imports, they're all cars, nothing to be ashamed of.

turbo timer? you can use anything.. all it does is keep your car on for a bit longer after you take your keys out. (of course, some have more features built into it)

If you don't know what turbine inlet flange it is, go here:

http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/index2.html

Then go to engine and turbo exhaust flanges

And then go to precision machined turbine flanges...

Click on the picture of each one, and it will show you detailed measurements...Just compare those measurements to yours (make sure you measure carefully!) to the flange...you'll find out quickly what you have...

Then once you have that flange, you can buy an SOHC turbo manifold from that same website as a kit sans flange, and you just buy the flange separately....you need to do the welding though, but it'll include the important flange and the elbows....
