supporting cast?

A TD06-20G with an 8.0cm housing would work.

A T04S with an AR.63 housing would too.

There are several of the Garrett GT turbos that should work as well like the 3076R with an AR.63 housing.

Garrett have just released their new range of turbos, The GTX range. Have a look.

The new GTX3071R will now make 500BHP. The new GT3076R will now do around 600BHP.
They are saying that the new turbos are as responsive as the old version but they flow ~20% more.

They are around the same price as the old versions as well;

BW have also released their new EFR series, they also look to be a very nice piece of kit, though they aren't as cost effective as Garrett's new range. The Sierra Sierra EVO has just swapped over to a new BW turbo and has taken 2.5 seconds off it's time first outing out.
Well the Sierra Sierra EVO has knocked 2 seconds off its personal best (which happens to have been the lap record for the track, which it took off HKS) at Buttonwillow on the first day of US Superlap using an EFR8374, gotta be promising...

The old version is ~$1450 for the full 60mm turbined version which the new one is, and then you are looking at another $~70 for the ported shroud compressor housing which if it as as responsive as what they are saying it is will be needed so $1520 all together.
The new version is ~1390 +250 for the housing so you are looking at $1640 in total. I'll pay $120 for better response and 20% increase in flow. Personally i would spend $295 on the turbine housing and get the 0.78a/r split pulse housing and get even better response and more power.

The Precision Turbo's are good value for money in plain bearing form and they are getting good results, if a bit extra you can get them put together with dual ceramic ball bearing for around $500 more. Have a read of the results that they are getting on the SR in the thread below.
