Turbo Mr2s???

What do thay run stock? What are the specs On ther 1/4 mile time?

Well out just a sec ago see this rich kid in his bigbadmr2(what the tag had on it) with 2 fart cans.(like i have room to talk) Well after a few 2nd gear races from a roll On the friday night strip i ask him to drive over to the road wher people race 1/4 mile with room to stop and no side roads so no people pulling out in front of you. Well i run from a stop and by 3rd gear i had him by 2 cars (i guess i was waching the road) well after that he let off and turn around and left. I know it was turbo spec becuz i heard it blow off and spool up. My Q is How why i dont get this at all???

My car is a 95 SE with trunk gutted and I/H/E Elc. fan and lsd swap also with a B&M SS,sportlines and AGXs set at 3/6

Just dont get this at all i thought those wher faster tham that??:help

im not sure the specs, but if that MR2 was turbo, and he was actually RACING, then i think he should have won...

We setup this race so he was REALLY trying. I would think ther would be no ponit to drive 3 miles to get to a place to race if you wheren't goin to try.But i am really confused about this. Maybe his car was not boosting right and he dont know it cuz he was like nice race man after we where done.

A;Well it might be the turbo sound kinda like sssshhhhhhh pppsss and sounds just like my buddys Rb so it could of been lolB: he held with me in 1st but 2nd i pulled pretty hard 3 i was still pulling then he gave up C:Maybe ,But would it kill that much power to get beat by a pretty much stock 240D: Dude i know my fair share about cars and know he should of won. I wouldn't of posted this but, I'm confused as hell

MR2 Turbos run about 6 seconds from 0-60, quarter mile about 14's. I'm pretty sure the turbos come stock with intercoolers. He should have had you considering it's mid engine, so there's less power loss at the drive train, and MR2's have a huge advantage in traction.

My MR2's manifold is blown, and my auto 240 would probably take my MR2 in 1st, but quarter mile I think my MR2 would at least catch up, if not win.

So, he probably didn't have a turbo(or it was blown), or he sucked so bad at driving he forgot to shift out of 2nd.

Maybe its one of those fake bov sound things but what about the turbo spool???

maybe he has a crappy engine....bad rings, compression, who knows? Most ppl don't take care of their turbo cars and often regret it.

They are capable of 13's with good tires on stock boost. I think you got lucky if it was indeed turbo.

sorry, couldnt resist. yes an MR2 turbo should run low 14s and as stated in above posts, the traction on them is ridiculous. yes they have intercoolers from factory

I guess i just got lucky. Who knows what was wrong with him/his car. The car didnt smoke or anything and didnt sound off it sounded like it was just fine. This is just kinda bugging me but hay, I beat him in front of his g/f lol maybe i should find her and get her #

Naa, We let are people out of the cars and then she called the start. My buddy got it on vid on his camra phone. It was pretty funny i showed all the guys at work and other 240 friends around here thay where like WTF?? who knows keep funnys coming.
