Theres a video floating around of a turbo minivan vs a Z28 and the minivan beat it... like 12 secs on the 1/4.

Yup. That guy also has an autox cavalier.

He was a fellow member of j-body.org before I converted to the dark side.

My other car is a dodge minivan too... but i bought the wrong model i guess, only a V6.

Sounds like that guy from the teckademics video that put the DSM motor in his hardbody truck.

I think it runs quicker then that, if we're talking about the same one. The one I'm thinking of has a big soccer ball on the back.

It's been on entensity and funfreepages so I will definatley try to link you guys, it owns the z28, just ****ing insane.

I just got rid of my 1980 toyota tercel. It weighed 1800 pounds gutted, and I was looking to drop the 4AGE motor in it, the 92' corolla engine with VVT, rated @ 200hp/200torque. That would have been a sleeper. Things didn't quite work out, prices for custom wire harness, and I had a uni-body frame w/ rusted underbody, they said if I came off the clutch too quick it would torque the frame. So that was gonna be my ultimate sleeper, but oh well. We went off roading in it, and I hit a tree and wrecked it. Paid 100 dollars for the car.

That is retardedly cool.

I've always liked the "vannig-soku" van tuners from Japan. You wonder what the engine compatibility situation is on some of those Japanese minivans. SR20DET in a Quest, 3SGTE in a Previa, etc..., someone should try that.

3sget? isnt that the american turbo celica version? the AWD one?

That engine rips, i think it was also in the MR2 engines in japan...

DAMN YOU FOR PUTTING THOSE THOUGHTS IN MY HEAD

3SGTE was in the Celica ALL-TRAC/GT4 (ST165, ST185, and ST205), and in both the JDM and USDM SW20 MR-2 Turbos.

It's also the engine that powers the Top Secret GT300 Widebody Supra;)

those vans are so incredibly cheap to get and cheap to make quick.

that engine can have a complete rebuild kit for like 400 bucks too I think....

if you get lucky, you may actually find one with a 5 speed too:)

There's a guy in Louisville who has a 4g63 in a summit AWD Minivan. I've actually seen it IRL, he stopped by the NICO rooftop meet.

It's crazy, i believe he only had a downpipe on it, so all you hear is spool, and you're lookin around for a talon, or an eclipse, and BAM it's the freakin busted up minvan

Weight is a big factor. Was it gutted? I will be dead honest here. My old grand am, 2900 pounds. I womped every civic around these parts. Just to make fun of them. Freaking coffee cans on their exhaust. I wreck it, get my malibu. 3100 pounds, I'm lucky if I can beat a civic, let alone pull it by a car or two.

If you seriously gutted a minivan to barebones, IMO, it would fly. Down here there's a place called 28 where people race, it's by a BK. Sometimes guys take their moms minivans down there. It's just minivan vs minivan, so it's nothing groundbreaking, but it's still fun to watch.

So get new glasses, cause this is the coolest thing i've ever heard of or seen. Yes, davis, this IS retardedly cool.

Im definately gonna have to get a turbo minivan to replace my shiddy V6 van and i will strip it to the bones in the rear, save for maybe some tools (strapped in well, of course).

Do it. Pictures and everything. Ah, If I had the money, you could probably drop an RB engine into a Quest. I'm guessing with conversions it would be VERY expensive, but then again, you can pretty much make anything fit in there as long as you have the money. There was a thread reply to mine where a guy put a v8 turbo into his 92 celica (might be 91 or 93 cant remember) Fit usually isn't a problem, the money factor is.

Windstars are also decent. I'm gonna try to get some video of the guys racing their vans if they do it again. There is a car show there every weekend and they do it sometimes before the show starts.

my parents just bought a sienna. those have camry V6's. it'd be pretty cool to strap a TRD supercharger to that.
