ok heres the deal i have finally stumbled apon a turbo caravan. some friends and I are thinking about buying it, buiding it, painting it urban camo, tuner wheels. then we will get 7 people and 7 helmets roll around looking for ricers to whoop up on. then get out an be like you just got whooped by a fully loaded mini van. So what do you think good idea? Also have plans of autocrossing it. :batman

uh, anyway

im all about the turbo minivans, i had a spirit r/t before this car and i know pretty much everything there is to know about a turbo dodge

first thing you need to do is gut ALL the soung deadening out of it, put some tow air shocks in back, fat tires infront and get the mopar +40 injectors, walbro pump, 3 inch exhaust, and a fuel pressure regulator with a BIG *** ford disel intercooler, it will take up the WHOLE front end, very good.

thatll net you high 13s with the vac line to the wastegate disconnected....

after that... head work, lots and lots of head work, cam regrind, bowl work, big back cut valves and a header using the NA 2.2 exhaust manifold with a T3 flange welded to it and slap a t3/t4 57 trim stage 3 wheel turbo on it and built the trans and bottom end, SDS standalone helps too.. youll be able to run the turbo 3 motor bottom end which already has forged pistons and the turbo 3 motor bottom end will support way upwards of 500 horsepower. bulding the trans is a must. anyway yeah... that setup will net you 11s on slicks well tuned with some bigger injectors and so on. for under 9 grand. have fun and make some money with it, you throw up 400 bucks at a guy with a spraying camaro, he'll race you, then you afford more mods :D

thanks for the ideas. i've wanted one of these vans ever since i found out they existed. I'd really like to convert it to a 5 speed and all but this is a budget project just something for fun, and i have to get the van they want 200 bucks for it wrecked in the front. I figure if nothing else i can get a body for nothing. Keep the thoughts coming. :D

Why would u do that to a RB26DETT ? Plus if u did that they might chrage you with murder b/c after you beat some ricer with a mini van they might just lose it and drive off a bridge.

There used to be a guy at the Orlando street races that did that, he had a HKS squential BOV, and everyone made fun of him, and no one would race him. Even the Honda boys made fun of him.

The turbo Dodge motors have a ridiculous amount of potential. Too bad they are surrounded by a Dodge.

skwerel - There's a guy named Mike who frequents the Infiniti forums who is also a Chrysler turbo guru (his screenname is Stoneage Turbo).

Hit him up via email, as he is a wealth of knowledge on the 2.2 turbo motors.

chop the body, sit it on some chrome tractor trailor wheels, and then put an old CAT turbo diesel in it, or in the case of the wheelie bus, a blown, methanol injested beast!
