I just had a thought don't know if it will work. Couldn't you take a premade sr20det manifold and cut off the flanges. Then weld an extention to port match and weld a ka flange? Just a thought.

no. the exhaust ports won't line up with the manifold runners.

but here's a rumor that i have heard...

the SR and the KA24DE intake ports are the same distance apart...

can you say GReddy intake manifold?

I know the exhuast ports won't line up. What i was wondering is what if you weld extra tubing to line it up.

it'd be more cost effective to get a JGSTools manifold, and it'd be a hole lot easier too, since you'd be doing the welding anyway...JGSTools manifold=$250

if that fits, I'm gonna be sooooo happy, 'cause that's the thing I don't like about the KA24 manifold, it's sorta ugly...

I believe Sam at JSPEC eyed one against a KA and it was close enough that he mentioned to me. Maybe he thought I would buy one from him to try? in any case, it's a possibility, but I'm not willing to buy one just to find out. At least not without looking at how close it really is first.

..Or someone could buy the SR intake manifold gasket and compare it to the KA one. Very tempting but how good is the Greddy intake anyways? Not sure if its worth the money.

I think it'd take away alot of the KA's strong suit, low end torque. I like the long runner stock mani since i don't think we have the rev's needed to take advantage of the huge greddy plenum.

even on the SR, the GReddy intake manifold is pointless until you start making serious power (500hp+).

on the other hand, a short runner manifold could really wake up a boosted KA's top end.
