I dropped my engine in last night and i got home and put the turbo manifold on and the exhaust housing on my turbo is less than a quarter inch from my master cylinder. the only thing i can think of is to move the turbo flange down on the manifold and re weld it. or does anyone know of a top mount manifold meant to make big turbo's clear?

What manifold do you have? If you're referring to the T3/T4 stainless steel manifold you find on ebay, you'll need to modify it. Some members say that theirs fit, but mine did not and i had to cut, re-position and re-weld the turbo's flange on the manifold. If you leave it the way it is, the manifold will be dangetously close to your brake booster. And even after modifying mine, it still melted the resevoir.

could try the "hockey puck motor mounts" that are supposed to lower it. and also make/buy a BMC shield and an exhaust housing heat shield...those are things to keep the heat away i guess.. just some ideas. heres the link for the motor mounts.

thanks for all the ideas. i went and bought hockey pucks and hardware today. and im going to modify the manifold too. my turbo is bigger than a t3/t4 and my compressor housing almost hits now and im going to go to my welding class tomorrow and make a heat sheild for the master.
