Every time i drive my car and boost then shift into the next gear during that moment from shifting out of the last gear and shifting into the next my blow off valve goes off and something under my hood makes a grinding noise. I am almost ceartin that its the turbo making this noise.

Is this sound normal or is some thing wrong and is my turbo still good?

If something is wrong how do i fix it?

This always happens when i press the gas down and rev up then let the gas go.

I beleve that the grinding noise is the sound of the turdine of the turbo slowing down but i don't think that sound is normal.

Maybe its some thing else making that noise i don't know but perhaps someone on this board will know.

Please help

Thats all.

turbos don't make grinding noises unless they're bad. that being said, I don't know if that's your problem... its really hard to diagnose a "noise" from 500 miles away at a keyboard. find someone nearby who will ride with you and tell you if the noise is coming from the turbo or not. It should be pretty easy to stand there and rev up the engine and listen to where the noise comes from.

I would guess that if the turbo was gone enough to be making grinding noises it SHOULD also be blowing oil..

You only notice this when shifting? Is it only when you're pushing it?Does it not do it when you accel?

Pop your hood, start your car, and start popping the throttle body open, see if you hear the noise and from where.

My NX made a weird grinding noise during deceleration, it turned out to be the engine mounts needed replacing..Not saying that's the issue, just saying it may not be a mechanical issue with the motor itself..

1) i notice it any time i rev and let off of the gas.

2) it happens after i rev pass 3000rpm . say if i rev up to 4000rmp when i let off of the gas and as the revs drop i hear the griding noise for about a second.

3) no it doesn't make noise when accelerating it happens after letting go the gas.
