My friend installed his turbo the other day but forgot to put on his locking plates. how bad is it if he doesn't install them?

If he didn't tighten them properly or use some form of thread locker, the nuts will be back off. I tend to put anti-seize on the nuts that hold the turbo on, so locking tabs are an essential.

I have never used locking plates and never had a problem but I would get them just in case.
