when accelerating it makes an odd low toned whistle like noise, similar to the way a subdued blow off valve would sound. Ugh I guess its harder to explain, but it makes the noise only when accelerating and I just wanted to know if any of you all had the same problem.
Also when idling transmission makes a loud constant low pitched whine but when clutch is pressed down it goes away. is it time for a new clutch?

Sounds like a bad throw out bearing. Does it make the noise only when you let out the clutch to accelerate or while accelerating? When was the last time you replaced the clutch? When you buy a new clutch it comes with the throw it bearing anyway so you may as well replace it all.

throw out bearing would get worse when clutch is pushed in... Sounds a bearing in the transmission, more than likely the front, but I wouldnt worry about it unless it acts messed up. Run GM syncho-mesh fluid and make sure its at level.
