not the same. Versa has the HR16 and Juke has the MR16 (baby brother to the MR18, MR20).

The MR16DDT is a direct injection variation with a turbo. It is part of the MR family, and similar enough that we can expect that the next generation Versa will have direct injection.

The Juke manifold will not bolt up to the MR18DE. The exhaust ports on the Juke are more oval vs the round ports on the MR18DE, also the flange is different, the Juke uses two studs per exhaust port (8 studs) vs the MR18 which only has 5 manifold studs......Which sucks because the Juke exhaust manifold is very cheap.

any chance of an engine swap between the mr16ddt and the mr18? or would there be too much modification/custom work involved?

I wouldn't think that much modification because it is an "MR" engine and they are all pretty similar.

But then again the mr16ddt is practically brand new so idk.

You could just buy a Juke?

much to simple. Plus, I think finding an engine would be cheaper

No finding an engine would NOT be cheaper. I have done 2 engine swaps out of 3 cars I have owned. Yes one was handed to me but the 2JZ was a different story. 5,000 just for an engine with 60,000 miles on it, not counting the transmission, and finding a drive shaft and rear end that match and Actually WORK.

The truck it went into only cost 1,500

A Supra you can get for 10,000 if your lucky.

The lesson I learned was, I shoulda just got the dam Supra.

Oh plus the Juke 16ddt is brand new so the only place your gonna be able to get that is from the dealer so your going to have to pay dealer up charges. Sooooo you might be lucky to get out with your head.

there is a turbo kit out for the mr20 right? Do you think maybe... possibly with just a few little tweaks maybe... possibly it can be adapted over to the mr18?

This might be a cheaper... more doable... I just had an idea!!!!!!!!!!

Im going to the sentra pages real quick to find someone with a turbo mr20 in the Atlanta area. Il get a look at it, get my mechanical engineering buddies from Southern Polytech to take a stab at it.

there is one for the QR25 based Sentra Spec-V. I don't know of any available kit for the MR20, but it could exist.

every kit I'e found so far is for the 25 and not the 20. I'm gonna keep looking though. How about a superturbo like the Nissan Micra? If they can fit a superturbo in that engine bay, we MUST be able to fit SOMETHING in the Versa'a bay, with some tweaking.
