pamp, i wasnt refering to you.(you actually have an Sr...and a modded sr on top of that, lol)..or anyone specific.....but i can't tell you how many people that are NEW to SR's come to the forums and their first post is about their 500hp goal....its the whole "i want a 10 second car" phenomenon....
about stripping all that stuff....i can tell you, and i'll get some digital pics up of my car since its stripped...and its fully striped...its a sparco seat, seat rail, dash, 5 guages, afc, turbo timer, stereo deck, one speaker, momo wheel, stripped pedals, extra cutouts of engine bay, no bumper supports, lightweight rims, no wipers, no blinkers, screws taken out all over the place, side mirros off, no carpet, plastics, 'crud', no power strearing, 1 light fan, etc etc....(i got pulled over the other week driving it too lol)
I dont think your going to get it down to 2000, even after doing lexan windows...POSSIBLY after carbon fiber hatchback(*custom), carbon fiber doors, carbon fiber hood, lightweight volks on back, 3 piece bogarts on front, carbon fenders......basically if you could get a one piece from end like for the civ's, then it might be possible with no rear body parts on the car. There are a lot of things greaser is doing now, like talking unecessary weight out of the rear differential, lightweight suspension components, etc....but still, i doubt he'll get under 2200...
We have a SER with bluebird which is full drag...its under 1900 lbs....but wont meet regulations for most events...trunk cut out, floor boards, sunroof welded with sheet metal, carbon hood, cut fenders, no front bumper, etc...it takes a hell of a lot of cutting and chopping, and lightweight components...
Charlies (
http://www.b20vtec.com) civic is a good example on what it takes to get a car to a weight like that..obviously its a civic hatch, that weighs 1800lbs, but stock its lighter than the 240...so it givees you an idea of what it will need done...he races pro all motor class, i think the minimum is 1800.
