I have a bone stock 240 sx back in the states. I want to turbocharge my KA. I was looking into f-max kit, or xs kits. They are about 4 large. I was wondering what would be best for me as the car is my daily driver. I want it to be faster than my wifes 2001 maxima 5spd. I hate that she has a faster car than me. I have around 10 large saved up to put into my baby silvia. I want to have a rebuild..and to strengthen up the engine with forged pistons, rods, the whole deal. Any info would help because I'm new to this tuning thing.......but I absolutely love Nissans and I hate all the honda civic guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Well saying things like "they are about 4 large" is a Honda Ricer expression. So if you hate Honda's you might want to lay off of the fast and furious lingo.

If all you want is to beat your wifes car, any of the three turbo kits (nsport, fmax, xs) will work. Go with whichever you can get the cheapest. You can piece a kit together forslightly cheaper, but since your "new to this tuning thing", stick with the available kits.

yes hondas are good cars....the owners ARE arrogant though. There are just too many of them. Why not start with a car with a reasonable amount of hp and gobs of torque?? Thats why I go Nissan, oh yeah....rearwheel drive too. Okay I'm looking into finding an SR20DEt motor and transmission over here since I live here. Also any J-SPEC performance mods that the states wishes they had. I can ship for free due to my being in the military. Also maybe a rb25 motor??? They are everywhere over here and an r32 skyline GTSm can be had for about 2grand. The GTR for around 7 or 8. And the junk yards are full of them and thier motors. I will look into them and let you know what I find.. Thanks guys.

Yeah, what's wrong with Honda ? Honda are just a all motor , non turbo, love extreme-high reving car. And no RWD if you are poor.

I want it to be faster than my wifes 2001 maxima 5spd. Easy.Bolt in intake, header, exhaust + cams + port & polish + high octane fuel + high advance timing. I won't believe if you still loose to your wife Maxima. Unless you have a auto trans. I am sorry for you if you do.

I want to turbocharge my KA .... I hate all the honda civic guys! Hard.Honda Civic is one of the most non-turbo -> turbo engine done around. Those Civic's guys have really good resources and information on how-to-turbo a n/a car.

They are not such a bad people after all. People who have a 4 inch muffler with 1 1/2 inch exhaust should be the person to be blamed.

well just about everything....japanese people don't keep thier cars very long due to older cars having high road taxes and insurance. Americans stationed here buy them really cheap. Junkyards are everywhere around. The language barrier is tough, and the parts and engines would cost to ship. But I'm sure all that stuff is cheap right from the yard. I will look into things in the next couple days and post a reply. Lets see, bluebird sss (sr20det)fwd, rb25det, rb26dett (probably hard to find, the rx-7 is basically the same as in the states, ummm supras also...honda Sir, civics of all types...really popular in japan, preludes, everything....boy I should start an importing site or something.

The only RB's you'll find in good condition will be the RB20DET. The RB25DET's are a little tougher and the RB26DETT is pretty much not available. The rest will be NA versions. I don't think you'll find to much 2JZGTE stuff either. I also don't think the BlueBird came with the SR20DET. I thought they were NA.

Oh and Gyfer, the Honda motor is awful. They produce 0 torque until over 6000 rpm at which point it only goes up to 125 or so. Having a motor that doesn't produce power until real late in the rev range makes for a horrible daily driver. I can say this because I've owned two already. Try driving a car will a decent full range torque curve and you'll never want another Honda again.

your right about the bluebird...it is NA. Supras are hard to come by also...but they are out there. So are various versions of the WRX...and every Lancer Evo. In some respects it might even be cheaper to purchase the car as a whole seein how they are so cheap here. I was looking around and the dealership right off base had an Evo IV for about 3 thousand american. Silvias are about that price also...the s14 versions and the s13's are even cheaper. And they all have the turbo. I don't know the difference between the Q's and K versions though.
